In Clideo Video Editor you can record your own audio, video, or make a screen recording.
Free users can make up to 15-minute recordings, premium users can make up to 60-minute recordings.
Record audio
To record audio using one of your device microphones, do the following:
- In the navigation sidebar, click Record and then click Audio.
- If prompted, allow your browser to access your microphone.
- If you have different microphones connected, in the recording pop-up window, click the Settings icon at the bottom right to choose the required microphone.
- To start a recording session, click the red circle. The recording will start after a 3- second countdown. You can cancel the recording process during the countdown by clicking anywhere in the screen.
- While recording, you can do one of the following:
- To stop the recording and save it, click the Stop button in the middle. Then proceed to step 6.
- To pause the recording, click the Pause button to the right, and then click it again to continue.
- To start a new recording, click the Retake button to the left and confirm that you want to make a new recording without saving the current one.
- After clicking the Stop button, in the new pop-up window, you can do one of the following:
- To rename the recording, click the Audio-Record label at the top left of the pop-up window.
- To listen to the recording, click the Play button.
- To add the recording to your project timeline, click the Add to timeline button. The recording will also be automatically added to Uploads.
- To add the recording to your Uploads only without adding it to the project timeline, click the Add to uploads button.
- To start a new recording, click the Retake button at the bottom left of the pop-up window and confirm that you want to make a new recording without saving the current one.
Record camera
To record video using one of your device cameras, do the following:
- In the navigation sidebar, click Record and then click Camera.
- If prompted, allow your browser to access your camera.
- If you have different cameras (for example back and front), in the recording pop-up window, click the Settings icon at the bottom right to choose the required camera. You can also change or turn off the microphone for your video recording.
- To start a recording session, click the red circle. The recording will start after a 3-second countdown. You can cancel the recording process during the countdown by clicking anywhere in the screen.
- While recording, you can do one of the following:
- To stop the recording and save it, click the Stop button in the middle. Then proceed to step 6.
- To pause the recording, click the Pause button to the right, and then click it again to continue.
- To start a new recording, click the Retake button to the left and confirm that you want to make a new recording without saving the current one.
- After clicking the Stop button, in the new pop-up window, you can do one of the following:
- To rename the recording, click the Camera-Record label at the top left of the pop-up window.
- To view the recording, click the Play button.
- To add the recording to your project timeline, click the Add to timeline button. The recording will also be automatically added to Uploads.
- To add the recording to your Uploads only without adding it to the project timeline, click the Add to uploads button.
- To start a new recording, click the Retake button at the bottom left of the pop-up window and confirm that you want to make a new recording without saving the current one.
Record screen
You can screen-record any browser tab, window, or entire screen, including the audio from your recorded screen and your own audio. To start recording your screen do the following:
- In the navigation sidebar, click Record and then click Screen.
- If prompted, allow your browser to access your camera and microphone.
- In the recording pop-up window, click the Settings icon at the bottom right to change or turn on/off the microphone and video camera for your screen recording.
- To start a recording session, click the red circle.
- In the sharing pop-up screen, select what part of your screen you want to record: a separate tab in your browser, window, or the entire screen. If applicable, select the Share system audio checkbox if you want to also include the audio from your recorded screen.
- Click Share to start recording your screen.
- While recording, in the Clideo tab, you can do one of the following:
- To stop the recording and save it, click the Stop button in the middle. Then proceed to step 8.
- To pause the recording, click the Pause button to the right, and then click it again to continue.
- To start a new recording, click the Retake button to the left and confirm that you want to make a new recording without saving the current one.
- After clicking the Stop button in the Clideo tab, in the new pop-up window, you can do one of the following:
- To rename the recording, click the Screen-Record label at the top left of the pop-up window.
- To view the recording, click the Play button.
- To add the recording to your project timeline, click the Add to timeline button. The recording will also be automatically added to Uploads. The screen recording and voice recording will be added as two separate files. The recordings will also be automatically added to Uploads.
- To add the recording to your Uploads only without adding it to the project timeline, click the Add to uploads button. The screen recording and voice recording will be added as two separate files.
- To start a new recording, click the Retake button at the bottom left of the pop-up window and confirm that you want to make a new recording without saving the current one.
Record screen and camera
You can screen-record any browser tab, window, or entire screen with a video from your camera. Your recording can include the audio from your recorded screen. To start recording your screen do the following:
- In the navigation sidebar, click Record and then click Screen & Camera.
- If prompted, allow your browser to access your camera and microphone.
- If you have different cameras (for example back and front) or microphones, in the Recording pop-up window, click the Settings icon at the bottom right to select or turn on/off the required device.
- To start a recording session, click the red circle.
- While recording, in the Clideo tab, you can do one of the following:
- To stop the recording and save it, click the Stop button in the middle. Then proceed to step 6.
- To pause the recording, click the Pause button to the right, and then click it again to continue.
- To start a new recording, click the Retake button to the left and confirm that you want to make a new recording without saving the current one.
