The Clideo Video Editor app for iOS is an all-in-one cross-platform app that allows you to create and edit videos and works both offline and online. You can combine and manage video, images, text, and music in a multi-track timeline.

How to create a project?
To create a project in the Clideo app, do the following:
- Launch the Clideo app.
- Tap the + icon.
- If you want to import your media files at this step, select the files you need and tap the Next button at the bottom right of the screen. If you want to import the files later, tap Start from scratch.
How to add files to my project?
You can add video, audio, and image files to your project at any moment. It is possible to upload one or several files simultaneously.
Adding video and images
To add video and images to a new or existing project, do the following:
- Create a new project or open the project of your choice from My projects.
- In the bottom tab bar, tap + to import the files from your device or stock libraries with videos and images, or tap Media to add the files you previously added to the project.
- Select one or several files, and then tap the Add button at the bottom right of the screen.
Adding audio
To add audio files to a new or existing project, create or open a project, and then do one of the following:
- To add an audio file, in the bottom tab bar, tap Audio and do one of the following:
- Tap My Files to select an audio file from your device.
- Tap From Video to select a video file and extract the audio only from it.
- Tap iTunes to select an audio file from your iTunes library.
- Tap Music Stock to add audio from a music stock library.
- Tap SFX to add audio from a sound effect stock library.
- To record your own voice or audio right in the app, do the following:
- In the bottom tab bar, tap Audio.
- Tap Record, and then tap OK to allow the Clideo app to access the microphone, if prompted.
- Tap the red circle icon to start recording and tap again to finish.
- The recorded audio track will be automatically saved to the timeline and Media.
Adding elements
You can add the following elements to your project: stickers, GIFs, emojis, and shapes. To add an element, do the following:
- In the bottom tab bar, tap Elements.
- Select one of the tabs at the top (Stickers, GIFs, Emojis, or Shapes) to see the available elements. Scroll down to view all items, or use the search field to find a particular one.
- Tap the element to add it to the project. The selected element will be added to the timeline and Media.
Viewing and removing the imported files
To view the uploaded files (video, audio, and image files) in the current project, in the bottom tab bar, tap Media.
You can remove the uploaded files from Media. To do that, open the project and do the following:
- In the bottom tab bar, tap Media.
- Select the files you want to remove and tap the Delete icon at the bottom.
- Confirm the deletion of selected files by tapping Delete. If the deleted file is currently used in the project, all its instances will be also removed from the project along with its settings.
How to add text to my project?
You can add customizable text elements to your project.
To add a text element to the project, do the following:
- In the bottom tab bar, tap Text.
- Tap the text preset to add it to the project. Swipe left or right to see all available options.
- Enter the text you need.
To remove the text element from the project timeline, select it and, in the options toolbar at the bottom, tap Delete.
How to change audio settings?
Once your audio is added to the project, you can trim, adjust the volume, add fade effects, duplicate, and replace it.
Touch the audio element in the timeline to see the options' toolbar for audio. You can change the following settings:
- To trim the audio, in the timeline, touch and drag the right yellow handle of the audio track to modify the file duration.
- To split the audio, select the audio element, touch and drag the timeline until the playhead (white vertical line) is in the split point you need, and then, tap Split.
- To adjust the audio volume, tap Volume and move the slider.
- To add the fade effects, tap Fade and use the sliders to set the Fade in and Fade out duration in the corresponding sliders. The value can be set between 0 seconds and 5 seconds, with 0 seconds as a default fade value.
- To change the audio speed, tap Speed and drag the slider to set the required value within the following limits: between 0.25 and 4.
- To duplicate audio, tap Duplicate.
- To remove audio from the project, tap Delete.
- To remove background noise, tab Reduce noise.
- To change the duration of the element, tap Duration and specify the new duration or select one of the presets. Use - or + to shorten or lengthen the track incrementally. Alternatively, in the timeline, drag the yellow handles of the element.
- To add new audio instead of the current one, tap Replace.
- To move the audio element in the timeline to the top or to the bottom, tap Front or Back correspondingly. Alternatively, touch and drag the element manually.
Swipe left to see all the toolbar options. Tap the arrow icon to close the options' toolbar.
How to change video settings?
Once your video is added to the project, you can trim, transform, rotate, and adjust its color settings, volume, and speed.
To edit video settings, tap the correspondent element in the timeline or preview pane to select it. The selected element is outlined in yellow.
- To move the video, in the preview pane, touch and drag it to place it anywhere on the canvas.
- To resize the video, in the preview pane, pinch the video with two fingers inwards or outwards.
- To rotate the video, in the preview pane, touch and hold the video with two fingers and rotate it manually.
- To trim the video, in the timeline, drag the right yellow handles of the video element to specify the required duration for the video.
- To split the video, select the video element, touch and drag the timeline until the playhead (white vertical line) is in the split point you need, and then, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Split.
- To adjust color settings, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Adjust and drag the sliders to change your video opacity, brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and add a blur effect.
- To change the video volume, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Volume and drag the slider to adjust the volume.
- To slow down or speed up the video, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Speed and drag the slider to set the required value within the following limits: between 0.25 and 4.
- To remove the video from the project, in the options toolbar at the bottom, tap Delete.
- To transform the video, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Transform, and then do one of the following:
- To fill the entire canvas with the video, scale, and crop it if required, tap Fill.
- To fit the entire video without cropping within the canvas and add black bars if required, tap Fit.
- To mirror the video horizontally, tap Mirror.
- To flip the video vertically, tap Flip.
- To rotate the video by 45 degrees, tap Rotate.

To freeze a specific frame of a video element and reuse it as an image in your project, drag the timeline until you see the frame you need to freeze in the preview screen and tap the Freeze icon. The video will split, and an image with the frame will be added at the point where the placeholder is located. The image will also be added to Media.
- To remove background noise from your video, tab Reduce noise.
- To change the duration of the element, tap Duration and specify the new duration or select one of the presets. Use - or + to shorten or lengthen the track incrementally. Alternatively, in the timeline, drag the yellow handles of the element.
- To duplicate the video, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Duplicate.
- To upload a new video instead of the current one, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Replace.
- To move the video element in the timeline to the top or to the bottom, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Front or Back correspondingly. Alternatively, touch and drag the element manually.
Swipe left to see all the toolbar options. Tap the arrow icon to close the options' toolbar.
How to change image settings?
Once your image is added to the project, you can transform it, flip, rotate, and adjust color settings.
To edit image settings, tap the correspondent element in the timeline. The selected element is outlined in yellow.
- To move the image, in the preview pane, touch and drag it to place it anywhere on the canvas.
- To resize the image, in the preview pane, pinch the image with two fingers inwards or outwards.
- To rotate the image, in the preview pane, touch and hold the image with two fingers and rotate the text manually.
- To split the image, to have several instances of itin the timeline, select the image element, touch and drag the timeline until the playhead (white vertical line) is in the split point you need, and then, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Split.
- To adjust color settings, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Adjust and drag the sliders to change your image opacity, brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and add a blur effect.
- To transform the image, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Transform, and then do one of the following:
- To fill the entire canvas with the image, scale, and crop it if required, tap Fill.
- To fit the entire image without cropping within the canvas and add black bars if required, tap Fit.

How to change text settings?
Once your text element is added to the project, you can move it, edit the text itself, its font, size, as well as text and background color settings.
To edit text settings, tap the correspondent element in the timeline. The selected element is outlined in yellow.
- To move the text element, in the preview pane, hold and drag it to place it anywhere on the canvas.
- To resize the text element, in the preview pane, pinch the text element with two fingers inwards or outwards.
- To rotate the text element, in the preview pane, touch and hold the text elements with two fingers and rotate the text manually.
- To edit the text element, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Edit, and then do one of the following:
- To change the text, type the text you need.
- To change the text font, tap the A icon and select one of the recent or featured fonts from the Font list. To select any other Google font, start typing the font name in the Search font field.
To change the font weight (thin, light, regular, bold, etc.), select one of the available options from the weight options at the bottom. Please note that the number of weight options varies depending on the selected font. Swipe left or right to see all the available options.
- To change the text options, tap the Options icon and drag the Font size, Line spacing, and Letter spacing sliders to specify the corresponding settings.
To adjust the horizontal alignment of text within the text box, tap one of the alignment icons.
To underline the text, tap the Underline icon.
To change the text to cursive, tap the Italics icon.
To capitalize the text, tap the Capitalize icon.
- To change the text color, tap the Drop icon and select one of the color options (custom color, or any of the color presets). Drag the opacity slider to change the transparency of the text color.
- To change the text background settings, tap the Background color icon and select one of the color options (no color, custom solid color or gradient, or any of the color presets). Drag the opacity slider to change the transparency of the text background color.
To round the corners of the background, drag the Rounding slider.

To change the text element opacity settings, tap the Opacity icon and drag the slider. You can change the opacity for the text or background colors individually using the opacity slider in the Drop and Background color settings.
- To split the text, to have several instances of it in the timeline, select the text element, touch and drag the timeline until the playhead (white vertical line) is in the split point you need, and then, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Split.
- To duplicate the text element, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Duplicate.
- To remove the text element from the project, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Delete.
- To change the duration of the element, tap Duration and specify the new duration or select one of the presets. Use - or + to shorten or lengthen the track incrementally. Alternatively, in the timeline, drag the yellow handles of the element.
- To move the text element in the timeline to the top or to the bottom, in the options' toolbar at the bottom, tap Front or Back correspondingly. Alternatively, touch and drag the element manually.
Swipe left to see all the toolbar options. Tap the arrow icon to close the options' toolbar.
How to change canvas settings?
While editing the project, you can adjust the video aspect ratio and its background color properties at any moment.
To adjust the canvas settings, in the bottom tab bar, tap Canvas, and then do one of the following:
- To change the video aspect ratio, tap the Size icon, and select one of the aspect ratio options or social media presets.
- By default, the canvas background color is black. To change the color, tap Background color icon, select the first Custom color icon to specify the custom solid color or gradient you need, or select one of the color presets.
Tap the arrow icon to the right to close the options' toolbar.
How to save my project?
To save a project to your device or cloud storage account, do the following:
- Tap the Export icon with an upward arrow at the top right and select one of the export settings. The final resolution of your video in pixels depends on your canvas aspect ratio and selected export setting.
If you do not have a Clideo Pro subscription, a watermark will be added to your video. If you want to remove the watermark, tap Remove watermark (you will proceed to the Pricing page to buy a Clideo Pro plan).
- Tap Save and wait for the process to finish. Do not lock the screen or switch to other apps during the saving process. Depending on the selected export option, your video duration, and applied settings this process can take up to several minutes. You can tap Cancel at the bottom to stop the export process and get back to the editing screen.
- Once you have saved the file, you can do one of the following:
- To preview the saved file, tap the preview thumbnail in the bottom right corner of the video preview.
- To return to editing, tap Back to edit at the top left.
- To view all your projects, tap My projects at the top right.
- To share the file, tap Share video.
- To create a new video, tap Create new project.
You can find the downloaded file in your Photos.
How to rename my project?
If you are a registered or premium user, Clideo keeps your projects in My projects. To rename the project, do the following:
- Make sure you are signed in and navigate to My Projects (open the app, close your project, or tap My projects at the top right of the project saving screen).
- Tap the three dots icon in the top right corner of the project card, and then select Rename.
- Type the new name in the Rename window, and then tap OK.
How to change the timeline scale?
To zoom in or out, pinch inward or outward with two fingers in the timeline.
