The Text to Speech Tool lets you convert written text into spoken words and create text-to-speech (TTS) audio tracks in your video project.
A single TTS audio track can be up to 500 characters long, which is around 30 seconds of speech, depending on the language and tone. You can add as many TTS tracks as you need.
Create your project
To create your project, do the following:
- Go to the Text to Speech tool.
- Click Get started, and create your project using your own files (video, audio, images), the in-built stock libraries with audio, video, images, GIF files, stickers, emojis, and shapes, or record your own video, audio, or screen recording.
Add TTS audio
To add TTS audio to the project, in the navigation sidebar, click TTS, and then do the following:
- In the Text to Speech section, select the language and voice from the dropdown lists. Depending on the language, the number of available voices may vary.
- Copy and paste or type the text you want to convert to speech into the text field (maximum 500 characters).
- Click the Play icon at the bottom left of the text field to listen to the generated speech.
- Click the Generate button at the bottom right of the text field to add the TTS audio to the timeline. The audio track will also be added to Media.
Edit TTS audio
You can customize the TTS audio you created. To edit the track, click its thumbnail in the timeline, and then do one of the following:
- To edit the text, in the Edit tab, make the required changes in the text field and click Save.
- To change the volume and add fade effects, click the Volume tab, and then drag the corresponding sliders.
- To change the timing of the TTS audio, click the Timing tab and set the start and end timestamps manually. Alternatively, drag the yellow handles of the track in the timeline.
Remove TTS audio
To remove the TTS audio track from the project timeline, select its thumbnail, and then do one of the following:
- At the top-left of the timeline, click the Delete icon.
- Press Delete or Backspace on your keyboard.
The file will be removed from your project but will stay in the Media section.
