The Add Image to Video tool lets you add your own or stock images to your video project. You can move them and change their size, as well as adjust other settings.
Create your project
To create your project, do the following:
- Go to the Add Image to Video tool.
- Click Get started.
Add your own image
You can add your own image to your project. To upload an image, do one of the following:
- In the navigation sidebar, click the + icon.
- Copy and paste files from your device, or take a screenshot and paste it into the editor.
- Drag and drop files from a folder on your computer or laptop into the editor.
- To upload from one of your storage accounts, in the navigation sidebar, click Media, and then click the Google Drive, Google Photos, or Dropbox icons.
Add stock image
Clideo includes the in-built stock libraries with images:
To add a file from in-built stock libraries to the project timeline, in the navigation sidebar, click Images, and then do one of the following:
- Find the asset you need and click the media thumbnail.
- Click the full-screen icon at the top right of the thumbnail and, in the pop-up preview screen, click Add to Timeline or Add to Media.
- Click and drag the media file to the timeline or canvas.
All media files added to the timeline from stock libraries are automatically added to Media.
To search for images, do one of the following:
- Type keywords into the search field.
- Click one of the predefined tags below the search field.
The images stock library is powered by Pixabay. For details on proper content usage, refer to the Pixabay Content License. For additional details, click the Image from Pixabay links on the pop-up preview screen for each media file.
Move image
To move the image, on the canvas, hold and drag it to place it anywhere on the canvas.
Overlay image
The order of the tracks in the timeline determines the visibility of the video, image, and text elements in the video. The elements located in the top tracks of the timeline overlap the elements located in the underneath tracks.
To change the order of the element and create an image overlay, select the element, and then do one of the following:
- Click and drag the selected element to the new position in the timeline.
- At the top-left of the timeline, click the Bring Forward or Send Backward icons to move the selected element up or down.
- Press Ctrl + ↑ / ⌘ Command + ↑ or Ctrl + ↓ / ⌘ Command + ↓ on your keyboard.
Transform image
To transform the image, click the Transform tab and then do one of the following:
- To fill the entire canvas with the image, scale, and crop it if required, click Fill.
- To fit the entire image without cropping within the canvas, click Fit.
- To make the image proportionally smaller or larger on the canvas, click and drag the corner handles in or out.
- To flip the image, in the Flip & Rotate section, click the Vertical or Horizontal flip icons.
- To rotate the image, in the Flip & Rotate section, click the Rotate icon or use the plus and minus buttons to specify the rotation angle. Alternatively, on the canvas, click the Rotation handle at the bottom of the yellow rectangle and rotate the image manually.
Adjust image
To adjust image color settings, click the Adjust tab and drag the sliders to change image opacity, brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and add a blur effect. To return the settings to default, scroll this section to the bottom and click Reset.
Change timing
Each element in the project has specific start and end timestamps. The element appears or is heard in your video within that timeframe.
To change the timing of the image, select its thumbnail in the timeline, and then do one of the following:
- In the timeline, drag the element to the new place without changing its duration, or drag the yellow handles of the element to change both the timing and duration.
- In the element's settings section, click the Timing tab and set the start and end timestamps manually.
Change duration
Each element in the project has a certain duration. The element appears in your video for as long as it lasts in the timeline.
To change the duration of the image, select its thumbnail in the timeline, and then do one of the following:
- In the timeline, drag the yellow handles of the element to specify the required duration.
- In the element's settings section, click the Duration tab and enter the required duration or select one of the duration presets. Use the -/+ buttons to gradually decrease or increase the value.
Remove image
To remove the image from the project timeline, select its thumbnail, and then do one of the following:
- At the top-left of the timeline, click the Delete icon.
- Press Delete or Backspace on your keyboard.
The file will be removed from your project but will stay in the Media section.
