How to make a video?

In Video Maker, you can create a video project using your own uploaded files (video, audio, images), the in-built stock libraries with audio, video, images, GIF files, stickers, emojis, and shapes, or you can record your own video, audio, or screen recording. You can also add text and customize all the elements as you need.

Create your project

To create your project, do the following:

1. Go to the Video Maker tool.
2. Click Get started.

Add files and other elements

To add files to your project, do one of the following:

• To upload from your device, in the navigation sidebar, click the + icon.
• Copy and paste files from your device, or take a screenshot and paste it into the editor.
• Drag and drop files from a folder on your computer or laptop into the editor.
• To upload from one of your storage accounts, in the navigation sidebar, click Media, and then click the Google Drive, Google Photos, or Dropbox icons.
• To record audio or video in your browser, in the navigation sidebar, click Media, and then click the Record icon or click Record in the navigation sidebar.
• To add text-to-speech, in the navigation sidebar, click Media, and then click the Text to Speech icon or click TTS in the navigation sidebar.
• To add a text element to the project, in the navigation sidebar, click Text, and select the text preset thumbnail.
• To add a file from in-built stock libraries, in the navigation sidebar, click Audio, Videos, Images, or Elements, find the asset you need and click the media thumbnail.

Edit your project

You can edit every element of your project. To make the edits, select the element in the timeline or preview screen and customize the available customization settings in the options tab of an element.

Depending on the type of the element, you can edit the following settings:

• Video: you can move, trim, resize, rotate, and adjust color settings, volume, and speed.
• Image: you can move, resize, flip, rotate, and adjust color settings.
• Audio: you can trim, adjust the volume, and add fade-in fade-out effects.
• Text: you can move and edit the text itself, change its font, size, as well as text and background color settings.

You can select multiple elements of the same type and apply some settings to all of them.

Export your project

To export the project and download it, do the following:

1. At the top right, click Export.
2. In the pop-up window, select one of the export settings. The final resolution of your video in pixels depends on your canvas aspect ratio and selected export setting.
3. Click Continue and wait for the process to finish. Depending on the selected export option, your video duration, and applied settings this process can take up to several minutes. You can click Cancel at the bottom to stop the export process and get back to the editing screen.
4. On the result page, you can do one of the following:
   • To save the file to your device, click Download.
   • To save the file to your Google Drive or Dropbox storage account, hover over or click the arrow to the right of the Download button and select the option of your choice.
