Clideo uses a credit-based system for certain features. The number of available credits depends on your plan.
For current credit tiers and pricing, see the Pricing page.
Which features use credits?
Currently, the following features use credits:
- Speech recognition: Automatically detects speech in audio or video and converts it to text.
- Translation: Automatically translates text into another language.
These features are currently available in Add Subtitles, Auto Subtitle Generator, Video Translator, Audio Translator, Video to Text, Audio to Text, and other tools with similar features.
How is credit usage calculated?
In general, 1 minute of processed audio or video uses 1 credit per action. The exact number of credits used depends on the action applied and the file's duration. If more than one action is applied to the same file, credits are charged separately for each action.
Examples for a 20-minute video
- Create subtitles with Auto Subtitle Generator: 20 credits for speech recognition.
- Translate uploaded SRT or manually added subtitles with Add Subtitles: 20 credits for translation.
- Turn video into text with Video to Text: 20 credits for speech recognition.
- Translate video with Video Translator: 40 credits total — 20 credits for speech recognition and 20 credits for translation.
When do credits refresh?
Credits refresh automatically based on your plan type:
- Clideo Pro monthly: Credits refresh when your next payment is processed.
- Clideo Pro annual: Credits refresh monthly on the same day as your original purchase date.
- Free registered users: Credits refresh monthly based on your registration date.
In shorter months, the refresh date may move to the last available day of the month.
Where can I check my credit balance?
Go to the My plan page to:
- see your remaining credits,
- check your next refresh date,
- upgrade to a higher credit tier if needed.
What happens to unused credits?
Unused credits expire at the end of the current billing cycle and do not carry over.
What happens to credits when I upgrade?
When you upgrade, you receive a discount on your first payment for the new plan. Any credits already used will still count as used after the upgrade.
