The Add Music app for iOS allows you to add background music, your own recording, or any soundtrack extracted from another video to your video. You can also change sound volume and trim audio and video tracks.
Before you begin
Download and install the Add Music app from the App Store.
Add video
- Open the Add Music app, and tap the Plus icon.
- Choose the video from your camera roll or tap the Camera icon at the top right to film a new video.
Add audio
To add audio, do one of the following:
- To add audio from your Library, tap the Plus icon next to the title. You can tap the song title to listen to the song before adding it. If you see the Download icon, you need to download the music from your iCloud library to your device.
- To upload new audio from iTunes that you have not yet purchased, tap Buy next to the song title and proceed to iTunes to buy it. Note that you need to be online to see this option.
- To add audio from your phone storage, tap the Import from Files tab at the bottom, and then select the audio of your choice.

To create your own audio right in the app, do the following:
- Tap the Record audio tab at the bottom.
- Touch the Microphone icon to start recording and Stop to finish it.
- Tap the blue Checkmark icon to save audio. Otherwise, tap the red Replay icon to make a new recording.
- To add audio from a video file, tap the Extract from video tab at the bottom, and then choose the file of your choice. The app will extract the audio only.
- To review the video, tap the Play icon. To see the full-screen preview, tap the Full-screen icon to the right of the player slider, and tap the Full-screen exit icon to return to the standard view.
Use the Search bar at the top to find a song in your Library or iTunes.
Change audio settings
Touch the audio timeline to adjust the audio settings; it will be highlighted in green when selected. You can change the following:
- To change the audio starting point, touch and drag the audio track bar. If the audio duration is shorter than the video file, you will see the Loop option with the infinity symbol. Tap it if you want the recording to repeat until the end of the film.
- To upload new audio instead of the current one, on the bottom toolbar, select Replace.
- To trim the audio, tap Trim, and then drag the handles to modify the file duration.
- To adjust the audio volume, tap Volume and move the slider.
- To add the fade effects, select Fade in and Fade out above the volume slider.
Change video settings
Touch the video timeline or video preview to adjust its settings:
- To trim the video, on the bottom toolbar, tap Trim, and then drag the handles to modify the duration.
- To adjust the video sound volume, tap Volume and move the slider.
Save video
- To review the video, tap the Play icon. To see the full-screen preview, tap the Full-screen icon to the right of the player slider, and tap the Full-screen exit icon to return to the standard view.

Tap the Export icon at the top right and then do one of the following:
- If you have a Clideo Pro Subscription, the saving process will start automatically.

If you do not have a Clideo Pro subscription, then tap Save (a watermark will be added to your video) or Save without watermark (you will proceed to the Pricing page to buy a Clideo Pro plan and save without a watermark).
Do not lock the screen or switch to other apps during the saving process.

Once you have saved the file, you can do one of the following:
- To return to editing, tap Back at the top left.
- To view all your projects, tap the four squares icon at the top right.
- To view the downloaded file in your Photos, tap Show in Gallery.
- To create a new video, tap Create New Project.
- To share the file, select the social media of your choice or tap Share Video at the bottom.
