Clideo Video Editor (and other all-in-one video editing tools built on it) runs in your browser on desktop and mobile devices, with no installation required.
Since the service uses WebGL2 technology, your device must meet certain system, browser, and hardware acceleration requirements.
System requirements
Ensure your device meets the following minimum system requirements:
Operating systems (OS)
- Windows 7+ with Chrome/Edge or Windows 10+ with Chrome/Edge/Firefox
- MacOS 12+ with Safari or Mac OS 10.12+ with Chrome
- iOS 17+ with Safari/Chrome
- Android 6+ with Chrome
System memory (RAM)
- 4 GB or higher
Graphics card (GPU)
Graphics cards (dedicated or integrated) must support Direct3D 11+.
For example:
- NVIDIA: GeForce 400 series (2011) or newer
- AMD: Radeon HD 6000 series (2011) or newer
- Intel (Integrated): Sandy Bridge (2nd Gen) or newer
Important note for laptop users: Ensure your device is connected to a power source or set to high-performance mode. Power-saving or eco-modes may disable the dedicated GPU.
Drivers
- Up-to-date graphics drivers
Unsupported systems
- macOS 10.11 and earlier
- Windows XP, Vista, and earlier
- iPhone X and earlier
Browser requirements
Ensure your device has the latest version of the following browsers:
Windows or Mac
- Google Chrome 117+ (recommended for best performance)
- Microsoft Edge 117+
- Safari 17.3+
- Mozilla Firefox 130+ (may run slower on systems without a dedicated GPU)
Android or iPhone/iPad
- Google Chrome 117+ or any Chromium-based browser on Android (recommended for best performance)
- Safari 17+ or Google Chrome (with Safari engine) on iOS
On most modern browsers and supported hardware, WebGL2 is enabled by default. If you still encounter issues or see a WebGL error, see the hardware acceleration section below.
Unsupported browsers
- Any browser lacking WebGL2 support (check which browsers support WebGL2).
Hardware acceleration
If your device meets all system and browser requirements and you still see a WebGL error message, check whether hardware acceleration is enabled in your browser settings.
Depending on device and browser versions, flags or experimental features may be unavailable or use different names.
Google Chrome
- In the address bar, go to chrome://settings/system
- Enable 'Use graphics acceleration when available'.
- Restart the browser.
- Check using chrome://gpu if WebGL2 has 'Hardware accelerated'.
Visit Google Chrome Help for more assistance.
Microsoft Edge
- In the address bar, go to edge://settings/system.
- Click on Graphics acceleration and enable 'Use graphics acceleration when available'.
- Restart the browser.
- Check using edge://gpu if WebGL2 has 'Hardware accelerated'.
Visit Microsoft Edge Help for more assistance.
Safari
- In Safari, enable the Developer menu via Settings > Advanced.
- In Safari, under the Develop > Experimental Features menu, enable 'WebGL 2.0'.
- Restart the browser.
Safari (iOS)
- Go to Settings Safari > Advanced > Experimental Features.
- Enable 'WebGL 2.0'.
- Restart the browser.
Visit Safari Help for more assistance.
Mozilla Firefox
- In the address bar, go to about:config.
- Search for webgl.disabled and ensure its value is set to false.
- Restart the browser.
- Check using about:support if the WebGL Renderer field has your graphics card details.
Visit Mozilla Firefox Help for more assistance.
Test if your browser runs WebGL2.
On older or unsupported GPUs, your browser may show WebGL2 as enabled but still block it because the GPU is blacklisted. In this case, Clideo Video Editor and other all-in-one video editing tools built on it will not work on your device, even if you override the blacklist.
Alternative tools
If Clideo Video Editor isn’t supported on your current setup, we recommend using our alternative video editing tools, which don’t require higher system specifications and run on a wider range of devices and browsers.
For example, you can use Merge Video to combine multiple clips into one, Add Music to Video to add or replace your audio track, Cut Video to trim or remove unwanted parts, Resize Video to change the dimensions or aspect ratio, and Crop Video to remove unwanted areas from the frame.
For a full overview, see the list of all tools and read our tool instructions help page.
If you need further assistance, contact our support team with detailed information about your system and browser, including screenshots or other relevant details.
